منتخب البحرين يستنجد بـ«بطل آسيا» – أخبار السعودية
أعلن الاتحاد البحريني لكرة القدم، اليوم (الاثنين)، توصله إلى اتفاق مع المدرب الإسباني فيلكس سانشيز لتولي قيادة المنتخب البحريني، خلفاً للكرواتي دراجان تالاييتش، الذي غادر منصبه بالتراضي عقب الخروج المبكر من منافسات كأس الخليج «خليجي 27».
وودّع المنتخب البحريني البطولة من دور المجموعات، بعدما تلقى ثلاث هزائم أمام قطر، بطلة آسيا، والإمارات واليمن، ضمن منافسات المجموعة الثانية.
وأوضح حساب المنتخب البحريني عبر منصة «إكس» أن سانشيز سيبدأ مهامه رسمياً خلال فترة التوقف الدولي في نوفمبر المقبل، مشيراً إلى أن اختياره جاء استناداً إلى سيرته التدريبية وخبراته على المستويين القاري والدولي.
ويملك المدرب الإسباني تجربة بارزة مع المنتخب القطري، إذ قاده للتتويج بكأس آسيا 2019، كما أشرف عليه في مشاركته الأولى بنهائيات كأس العالم 2022، التي استضافتها قطر.
وتنتظر سانشيز تحديات مهمة مع المنتخب البحريني، في مقدمتها الاستعداد لخوض منافسات كأس آسيا 2027، والعمل على بلوغ نهائيات كأس العالم 2030.
ومن المنتظر أن يعقد الاتحاد البحريني لكرة القدم مؤتمراً صحافياً لتقديم المدرب الجديد إلى وسائل الإعلام، فور وصوله إلى البحرين.
The Bahrain Football Association announced today (Monday) that it has reached an agreement with Spanish coach Felix Sanchez to lead the Bahrain national team, succeeding Croatian Dragan Talajic, who left his position by mutual consent following an early exit from the Gulf Cup “Gulf 27”.
The Bahrain national team was eliminated from the tournament in the group stage after suffering three defeats against Qatar, the Asian champion, the UAE, and Yemen, in the second group matches.
The Bahrain national team’s account on the “X” platform clarified that Sanchez will officially start his duties during the international break in November, indicating that his selection was based on his coaching resume and experiences at both the continental and international levels.
The Spanish coach has notable experience with the Qatari national team, having led them to win the 2019 Asian Cup, and he also oversaw their first participation in the 2022 World Cup, which was hosted by Qatar.
Sanchez faces significant challenges with the Bahrain national team, primarily preparing for the 2027 Asian Cup and working towards qualifying for the 2030 World Cup.
The Bahrain Football Association is expected to hold a press conference to introduce the new coach to the media as soon as he arrives in Bahrain.
