علياء قاري.. مسيرة تفك شيفرة الأمراض – أخبار السعودية
من الاستشارات الوراثية إلى قيادة العمل المؤسسي، رسمت المستشارة الوراثية الأستاذة علياء قاري مسيرة مهنية امتدت قرابة عقدين، جمعت خلالها بين الممارسة السريرية والبحث العلمي والعمل الأكاديمي، وأسهمت في تعزيز حضور أحد التخصصات الطبية الدقيقة داخل منظومة الرعاية الصحية السعودية.
وتتولى قاري، منذ يونيو 2024، رئاسة الجمعية السعودية للطب الوراثي، في امتداد لمسيرتها المهنية بمستشفى الملك فيصل التخصصي ومركز الأبحاث بالرياض، إلى جانب ارتباطها الأكاديمي بجامعة الفيصل، حيث تركز اهتماماتها على تطوير خدمات الاستشارات الوراثية وتعزيز الوعي بالأمراض الجينية وسبل الوقاية منها.
وشكل حصولها على درجة الماجستير في الاستشارات الوراثية من جامعة الفيصل عام 2018، بمرتبة الشرف الأولى، محطة أكاديمية بارزة عززت خبرتها في تخصص يتطلب الجمع بين المعرفة الطبية الدقيقة والقدرة على التعامل مع الأبعاد الإنسانية والاجتماعية المرتبطة بالتشخيص الوراثي.
وامتد حضور قاري إلى المؤتمرات والملتقيات العلمية، من خلال مشاركات تناولت الأمراض الوراثية والاستقلابية وأخلاقيات الطب الوراثي، إلى جانب إسهاماتها في تنظيم ورش العمل والبرامج التوعوية الهادفة إلى رفع مستوى المعرفة المجتمعية بأهمية الاستشارات والفحوص الوراثية.
وفي المجال البحثي، شاركت في دراسات علمية تناولت الطفرات الجينية والتشخيص الوراثي والأمراض الاستقلابية، فضلاً عن أبحاث ناقشت تطوير خدمات الاستشارات الوراثية، وبرامج إعداد الكفاءات المتخصصة في المملكة.
وتعكس تجربتها اتجاهاً متنامياً نحو توسيع دور الاستشارات الوراثية، من تقديم المشورة الطبية للأفراد والعائلات إلى الإسهام في الوقاية والكشف المبكر ودعم القرارات الصحية المبنية على المعرفة العلمية.
ومن موقعها في رئاسة الجمعية السعودية للطب الوراثي، تواصل قاري اهتمامها بتعزيز التكامل بين الممارسة الطبية والبحث العلمي والتخطيط المؤسسي، في مسار يستهدف تطوير التخصص ورفع كفاءة خدماته، بما يواكب التحولات التي يشهدها القطاع الصحي السعودي.
From genetic counseling to leading institutional work, genetic consultant Professor Aliyah Qari has charted a professional journey spanning nearly two decades, during which she has combined clinical practice, scientific research, and academic work, contributing to the enhancement of one of the precise medical specialties within the Saudi healthcare system.
Since June 2024, Qari has been the president of the Saudi Society of Genetic Medicine, extending her professional journey at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre in Riyadh, alongside her academic affiliation with Al-Faisal University, where her interests focus on developing genetic counseling services and raising awareness about genetic diseases and their prevention.
Her attainment of a master’s degree in genetic counseling from Al-Faisal University in 2018, with first-class honors, marked a significant academic milestone that enhanced her expertise in a field that requires a blend of precise medical knowledge and the ability to address the human and social dimensions associated with genetic diagnosis.
Qari’s presence has extended to conferences and scientific gatherings, through contributions addressing genetic and metabolic diseases and the ethics of genetic medicine, in addition to her efforts in organizing workshops and awareness programs aimed at raising community knowledge about the importance of genetic counseling and testing.
In the research field, she has participated in scientific studies addressing genetic mutations, genetic diagnosis, and metabolic diseases, as well as research discussing the development of genetic counseling services and programs for preparing specialized competencies in the Kingdom.
Her experience reflects a growing trend towards expanding the role of genetic counseling, from providing medical advice to individuals and families to contributing to prevention, early detection, and supporting health decisions based on scientific knowledge.
From her position as president of the Saudi Society of Genetic Medicine, Qari continues her interest in enhancing the integration between medical practice, scientific research, and institutional planning, in a path aimed at developing the specialty and improving the efficiency of its services, in line with the transformations taking place in the Saudi healthcare sector.
