لعدم تأكيد إيران حضورها مفاوضات إسلام آباد.. تعليق رحلة نائب الرئيس الأمريكي – أخبار السعودية
كشفت وسائل إعلام أمريكية اليوم (الثلاثاء) عن تعليق واشنطن الرحلة الدبلوماسية لنائب الرئيس الأمريكي جي دي فانس إلى إسلام آباد، وذلك بعد عدم تأكيد طهران موقفها من المفاوضات.
ونقلت صحيفة «نيويورك تايمز» الأمريكية عن مسؤول أمريكي مطلع قوله: «في غياب رد إيراني، فإن العملية الدبلوماسية متوقفة فعلياً، رغم أن الرحلة لم تُلغَ»، مضيفاً: الرحلة قد تُستأنف في أي لحظة إذا ردّ المفاوضون الإيرانيون بطريقة يراها الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب مقبولة.
ويسعى المسؤولون الأمريكيون للحصول على إشارة واضحة بأن المفاوضين الإيرانيين مُنحوا تفويضاً كاملاً للتوصل إلى اتفاق.
وأفاد مسؤول أمريكي أن نائب الرئيس فانس يعقد الآن اجتماعا في البيت الأبيض بشأن الشرق الأوسط.
بدورها، نقلت شبكة «سي إن إن»، عن مصادر مطلعة، قوله: إنه لا يزال من غير الواضح موعد مغادرة جيه دي فانس نائب الرئيس الأمريكي من واشنطن إلى باكستان.
بالمقابل قال المتحدث باسم وزارة الخارجية الإيرانية، إسماعيل بقائي: طهران لم تتخذ بعد قراراً بشأن حضور الجولة الثانية من المحادثات المقررة مع الولايات المتحدة في العاصمة الباكستانية إسلام آباد.
وأضاف بقائي للتلفزيون الإيراني: الإجراءات الأمريكية بحق سفينتين إيرانيتين تصل إلى مستوى القرصنة في البحر، وتثير تساؤلات بشأن جدية واشنطن في التفاوض.
American media revealed today (Tuesday) that Washington has suspended the diplomatic trip of U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance to Islamabad, following Tehran’s failure to confirm its stance on the negotiations.
The American newspaper “The New York Times” quoted a knowledgeable U.S. official as saying: “In the absence of an Iranian response, the diplomatic process is effectively on hold, although the trip has not been canceled,” adding: the trip could be resumed at any moment if the Iranian negotiators respond in a way that U.S. President Donald Trump deems acceptable.
U.S. officials are seeking a clear signal that the Iranian negotiators have been given full authority to reach an agreement.
An American official reported that Vice President Vance is currently holding a meeting at the White House regarding the Middle East.
For its part, CNN reported, citing informed sources, that it is still unclear when J.D. Vance, the U.S. Vice President, will depart from Washington to Pakistan.
In contrast, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ismail Baqaei stated that Tehran has not yet made a decision regarding its participation in the second round of scheduled talks with the United States in the Pakistani capital, Islamabad.
Baqaei added to Iranian television: The U.S. actions against two Iranian vessels amount to piracy at sea and raise questions about Washington’s seriousness in negotiating.
