Doctor Javier Quintero revealed a range of foods rich in vitamins and essential nutrients necessary for brain health, noting that following a balanced and varied diet contributes to improving its functions, supporting memory and concentration, and maintaining the integrity of the nervous system.
He explained that the brain requires a regular supply of vitamin B9, which is found in green leafy vegetables, lentils, asparagus, and avocados, along with vitamin B6 present in turkey, chickpeas, bananas, and pistachios, which play an important role in maintaining brain functions.
He pointed out the importance of monitoring vitamin D levels and ensuring the consumption of fatty fish, such as mackerel and salmon, while vitamin B12 can be obtained from dairy products, shellfish, and beef.
Quintero highlighted that eggs are among the beneficial foods for the brain, as they contain the mentioned nutrients and vitamins, emphasizing the importance of dietary diversity instead of focusing on one type of food.
These recommendations align with trends that emphasize the role of nutrition in maintaining brain health and preventing age-related changes, as experts indicate the importance of regularly obtaining a range of B vitamins and vitamin D to support memory, concentration, and nervous system functions.
He indicated that a balanced diet, which includes leafy vegetables, legumes, nuts, fish, dairy products, and eggs, can provide the body’s needs for essential nutrients without the need for additional supplements.
He stressed the necessity of adopting a comprehensive dietary approach based on food diversity, ensuring that the brain is supplied with the vitamins and micronutrients needed to maintain its functions normally.
